We have received a number of calls enquiring about the new Psychoactive Substances Act (PSA), which comes in to force on the 26th May 2016. The main concern is how will the PSA effect legitimate suppliers and users of Nitrous Oxide?
The PSA actually changes nothing for the legitimate users; the use of cylinder based Nitrous Oxide for human consumption without a Medical license has been illegal since 1968 (The Medicines Act, ’68).
The new PSA aims to stop those who ignore UK law or who have previously used loopholes in the law to continue supply.
Although not a frequent occurrence, customers who’ve been suspected or found to have been involved in the misuse of Nitrous Oxide have always been blacklisted for future supply. As of today should irrefutable proof of any such activities be found these details would be passed, along with any evidence and your details, to your local Police Station.
For any of our customers who offer cylinder refilling, this new legislation may mean you suddenly receive more new enquiries than before. Please be vigilant in these coming months.
